Using STORY as the Messenger

Jenifer delivers carefully crafted keynotes with motivational messages in a lively and interactive style.

She uses a balanced formula of thought provoking information, current research, personal anecdotes, and humor, but it is her warm, conversational style of delivery, her interaction with the audience, and the selection and placement of stories that make her keynotes memorable.

More Than A Power Point!

In Jenifer’s keynotes, audience members not only listen, but are asked to actively participate, discuss, and “do something” with the information she delivers.

Her keynotes are supplemented (with visual auditory, and printed material) to accommodate a variety of learning and listening styles.

Connecting Communication and Imagination to Education
In this world of technological advancement and its explosion of information, our children are experiencing an imagination deficit. It’s time to balance the budget!

Former teacher and storyteller, Jenifer Strauss will present a compelling argument for the use of Storytelling as a cognitive development tool and motivate you to use “STORY” as a powerful link for connecting imagination to education and help others do the same.

Jenifer will be addressing storytelling in emergent literacy, current research on the effect of media in the family, brain development, and evidence for the successful use of storytelling for reading readiness, and cognitive development across classroom curriculum, and within the family environment.

Storytelling: The Key to Expressive and Receptive Language Development

Genetics and experience are the determining forces behind the development of a child’s brain. Current brain research indicates that babies are born with 17% of their brain’s neural networks already wired. The rest of that development is use dependent. What a child sees, hears, feels and experiences determines the “wiring” of the rest of their brain’s neural networks.

Jenifer Strauss will share passion and proof that the ancient, oral art form of Storytelling and its related language activities, is not only entertaining, but transmits values and cultural information, is playful, intimate, and interactively engaging, and has the ability to naturally enhance a child’s brain development, and thus effect their cognitive development, and reading readiness.

Making the Family Connection
One Story at a Time

Jenifer will share passion and proof that the ancient, oral art form of Storytelling and its related activities, is not only entertaining, but transmits values and cultural information, is playful, intimate, and interactively engaging, and has the ability to naturally maximize a child’s learning potential, and improve family relationships.

The Gifts on the Road to Rights: The Power of Hearing and Telling our Story for Mental Health Recovery

As a mental health consumer, and future mental health care provider, Jenifer will take us on a journey of narrative, down a road to healing, one story at a time, and deliver us at the end, with the power and testament of personal stories, to create understanding, tolerance and acceptance, and thus allow us to better serve each other on the road to recovery.

Health, Heart and Happiness

A powerful keynote for women’s conferences and festivals about how to recognize and embrace change in our lives. Using heart-felt and humorous stories, Jenifer addresses physical, emotional and spiritual health and gives poignant suggestions about how to achieve a balance of all three.

Saying Yes to Life’s Adventures:
All of Them!

If you are an “Adventure-Luster” or an “Adventure-Luster Wannabe”, Storyteller, Jenifer Strauss will take you on a journey, woven with humorous and heart-warming stories, that will give to you a better understanding of the adventures in your life that have made you who you are, and inspire you to say “YES!” to the adventures yet to come … All Of Them!

Curing the Imagination Deficit with Fantasy

In a lively presentation, weaving stories of Fantasy with the current brain research on imagination, Jenifer will support the theory that storytelling is a powerful solution to imagination deficit, and sharing fantasy in the oral tradition strengthens imagination skills in listeners, allowing them to use the creative part of their brain in cognitively developmental ways. Now…Who would of thought that telling stories could do all that!!
